Patricia K. Capece

Albany-Patricia K. Capece, 81, was born into Eternal Life Sunday, December 20, 2015 in the Hospice Inn at St. Peter’s Hospital with her beloved family at her bedside. Born in Manhattan on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17, 1934 she was the daughter of the late John and Helen Carr Kelly. Pat grew up in the Bronx. She resided in Eastchester, NY but lived most of her life in White Plains, NY, and it was there that she brought her three children up. She retired from the White Plains Public School District, where she worked in Special Education, and at the end of her career served as a Film Editor and Processor for the District. Pat’s family holds dear that despite all her ailments and health challenges Pat kept them anchored in the real world with her many life lessons and expressions like, ‘it is what it is.’ She loved to travel and created some beautiful memories on her trips. She traveled to Europe several times, and her experiences included cruising the Panama Canal and walking on Alaskan Icebergs. Pat loved her Irish heritage, and enjoyed all things Irish. She was thrilled to have the chance on one of her European trips to visit her oldest relatives in Ireland who still lived on the family farm. She was the wife of the late Anthony Joseph Capece Sr who was a longtime employee of the Village of Scarsdale, NY; dear mother of Edward A. Capece (Michele), self-employed, Mary Ann Patricia Capece, who works at St. Peter’s Hospital, and Anthony J. Capece Jr (Denise), Executive Director of the Central Avenue Business Improvement District; sister of John Kelly (Carol); beloved grandmother Gina Capece, Anthony J. Capece III, Nicholas Capece, Matthew Capece, and Danielle Capece. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Pat’s family Tuesday, December 22, 2015 4:00 to 7:00 pm in the McVeigh Funeral Home, 208 North Allen Street, Albany, NY. Funeral services Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at 8:15 am from the McVeigh Funeral Home, thence to Blessed Sacrament Church, Albany at 9:00 am where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will be held Thursday, December 24, 2015 at 9:30 am in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Valhalla, NY.
