Margaret Dorothy Paige

Latham - Margaret Paige, 90, of Latham passed on to the next life peacefully early Saturday morning, January 19, 2019 at Albany Medical Center with her loving family by her side. Margaret lived a long, wonderful life filled with love and happiness. She was a woman of great faith. As a devout Catholic she was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Latham. She was loved by everyone who knew her, and she cherished her friends and family most of all. Margaret was a loving daughter, sister, wife, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother and loyal friend to so many people. Most importantly she was the greatest Mother anyone could ever have. Margaret was born in Albany to Michael Potaski and Dorothy Walters (Potaski) (Johnson). She was raised in Albany and graduated from Vincentian Institute in 1946 where she fostered many friendships lasting to this day. Margaret was employed by Albany Housing Authority where she worked to become the first female housing manager for AHA. Margaret retired as a Senior Housing Manager managing multiple elderly residences. Margaret had a beautiful voice and loved to sing. She enjoyed travelling with her family and friends. She spent most evenings reading and enjoyed a monthly book club with her friends from high school. She was also the New York Yankees most loyal fan. Margaret is predeceased by her loving husband John Paige, her brothers, Robert and Michael Johnson and sister-in-law Jeanne Johnson. Margaret is survived by three children, Andrew Wyman (Trece), Barbara Wyman Martenis (Edward) and Robert Wyman; brother, Alfred Johnson; sister-in-law Theresa Paige, three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several loving nieces and nephews. The family will greet friends from 8:15 am to 9:15 am Friday, January 25, at the McVeigh Funeral Home, 208 N Allen St, Albany. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 25, 2019 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Latham, 498 Watervliet Shaker Road. The Rite of Interment will follow the service in St. Agnes Mausoleum, Menands. Margaret’s family would like to extend their gratitude to her friends and the nursing staff at Our Lady of Mercy Life Center, the doctors and nurses at Albany Medical Center for their kindness and attentive care and the nursing staff at the Albany Memorial Heart Clinic for all of their love, kindness and incredible care. We sincerely thank you all for taking such wonderful care of our Mom. This world will miss her dearly. Memorials may be made in Margaret’s name to the American Heart Association or Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
