Albany - Laurie Eleanor Cronin, 72. She entered into eternal peace and rest on Monday, August 8, 2011, after a long and courageous battle with Cancer. She left this world in the arms of her beloved Husband, Joe of 52 years and surrounded by her loving family. Laurie was born on March 3, 1939 in Albany, N.Y. She is pre-deceased by her Parents: Joseph and Lorena Ehrhardt, and sister Suzie. Survived by sisters, Pat, Joan and Ginny. She is survived by her adoring and devoted husband, Joseph Edmund Cronin, Sr., and children: Joseph “Joey” (Elizabeth “Bethie”), Kathleen “Kathy” Cronin-Carr (Thomas Carr), Sean “Beau” (Jewell), Christine “Tina” (Billy Biers), Laurie “Laurilie” Lichorat (Steve). And her sixteen grandchildren: Megan, James (Jenn), Kaitlyn (Mike), Patrick, Kelly, Zachary, Alexandra, Garrett, Connor, Eliza, Dahne, Nora, Aidan, Dylan, Jordan, Reilly; great grand-son, Gabriel, and step-grandson’s Lance and Spencer. Laurie’s greatest passion in life was the love she had for her family and friends. Her life was a celebration of love. Every thing that she touched, from her beautiful gardens and roses to her adoring Husband and family, could and did blossom from her love. Laurie was a Wife, lover, Mother, Nana, friend, nurse, artist, gardener, baker, swimmer, chef, songstress, seamstress, dancer, referee, taxi-cab, sheriff, financier, forgiver and teacher to all of us. She will live on in all of us forever. Funeral services Friday, August 12, 2011 at 9:00 am at the Parish of Mater Christi, 40 Hopewell Street, Albany, NY 12208 (off New Scotland Avenue) where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Thursday, August 11, 2011 in the McVeigh Funeral Home, 208 North Allen Street, Albany, NY 12206 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Interment to her final resting place will follow the Mass at Calvary Cemetery, Route 9W, Glenmont, NY.
