Joan E. Bucci Cavanaugh

Loudonville-Joan E. Bucci Cavanaugh, 71, of Loudonville passed away Sunday, December 26, 2010 with her family by her side. She is the daughter of the late William and Margaret McCoy Mink. Joan is survived by her daughters Sharon Foster (James), Susan Bucci and Joan’s son William Bucci (Valerie); grandmother of Amy Bucci, Julie Bucci, Alexander Foster, Jordyn Bucci-Mooney, and Mary Bucci-Mooney; sister of Patricia Judge of Latham, Norma Rizzo (Joseph) of Latham, Robert Mink of Valley Falls, Margaret Buhler of Trophy City, TX, Kathleen Berghela (Thomas) of Troy, Mary Geraci (Michael) of Colonie, Eileen Nelson (Richard) of Saratoga Springs, Michael Mink (Denise) of Greenville, and Paul Mink (Sally) of Clearwater, FL; aunt of many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. She is predeceased by brothers Thomas Mink (Nadine) of Colonie and William Mink of Albany. Joan graduated from Cathedral Academy High School and continued to enjoy meeting with fellow classmates for monthly dinners. She retired with more than 30 years of service at the NYS Department of Health. Joan loved retirement. She spent her days golfing, volunteering with the Shaker Road Loudonville Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and spoiling her grandchildren. Her family would like to thank all of the staff at the Medical ICU of Albany Medical Center, the staff at Dr. Palat’s office, and everyone at NYOH for the wonderful care she received. Funeral services Thursday, December 30, 2010 at 9:15 am from the McVeigh Funeral Home, 208 North Allen Street, Albany thence to Christ Our Light Catholic Church (formerly St. Francis de Sales Church) Loudonville at 10:00 am where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Wednesday, December 29, 2010 4:00 to 7:00 pm in the funeral home. Interment St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
