Jean D. Murnane

Albany-Jean D. Murnane, 89, formerly of Edgewood Avenue in Albany, died peacefully with her children by her side on Tuesday, October 27th, at the Eddy Village Green in Cohoes. She was the daughter of the late Judge Anthony and Edith DeStefano. Born and educated in Albany, at St. James School, the Academy of the Holy Names, the Mildred Elley School and The New York State College for Teachers, Jean was a lifelong resident. She had worked as an Administrative Assistant for New York State Comptroller Arthur Levitt, Sr. and also as an Administrative Assistant in the office of legal counsel at St. Peter's Hospital and in the New York State Assembly. She was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church in Albany. Jean was the loving mother of John D. Murnane (Theresa) of Millwood, NY and Mary Lourdes Pinckney (Roger Saillant) of Saratoga Springs, NY; and the cherished grandmother of Matthew Pinckney (Natalie), Austin Murnane, Charles Pinckney (Amy), Brendan Murnane, Justine Murnane, and Ryan Murnane. Her children and grandchildren were the center of her life; and she loved spending weekends, holidays and vacations with them, particularly in the Adirondack Mountains. She is also survived by her extended family at Eddy Village Green. Funeral services Friday, October 30, 2015 at 1:00 pm in Blessed Sacrament Church, Albany where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will immediately follow the Mass at St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
