Felicia G. (Parzych) Menneto

Albany-Felicia G. (Parzych) Menneto, 90, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 2nd, 2015 with family by her side. Born in Albany, she was the daughter of the late Marian and Walentina Parzych. Felicia had a fulfilling 55 plus years of service before retiring from New York State, a job in which she often proclaimed to have loved to anyone who knew her. Her service included working for Audit & Control, the Comptroller’s Office, and Tax & Finance before she finally decided it was time to retire at the age of 86. In addition to her passion to keep her career, she loved raising her four children and was nothing short of enthusiastic and dedicated to babysitting all of her grandchildren. Felicia was a woman strong in her faith who was a familiar face to members of her local parish. She was an avid bowler who much enjoyed time out of the house to join the ladies of her bowling league. Felicia was a fanatical New York Yankees fan, roping her family in and almost never missing a game, but nothing topped her undoubted attendance and dedication in watching her grandchildren’s sporting events and recitals. After almost 60 years of marriage, Felicia is survived by her caring husband, John M. Menneto. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sister, Rita Holcomb of Albany and her adoring children; John M. Jr. (Rosemary) of Satellite Beach, Fl., Victoria L. Menneto-Trance of Latham, Alicia M. Celli (Gilbert) of Glen Cove, NY, and Nanette McGowan (Sean) of East Greenbush. Felicia is also survived by her cherished and beloved grandchildren; Kristen Albright (Stephen), David, Andrew & Connor Menneto, Thomas & Gregory Hotaling, and Paige M. & Drew M. Trance, as well as many nieces and nephews, great-grandchildren, and very special, close friends. She was predeceased in death by her two loving brothers, Michael & Stanley Parzych, and her dear sister Hedwig “Jadz” Grzegoski. Felicia was a friend of many and loved by all. Her family would love to share with you in the celebration of her life. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 5th, 2015 at 8:15 am at McVeigh Funeral Home followed by a mass of Christian burial at Blessed Sacrament Church, Albany at 9:00 am.
