Elizabeth "Beth" Miuccio-Merritt

ALBANY, N.Y. – Elizabeth (Beth) Miuccio-Merritt died peacefully in her home on November 7th after a long battle with cancer. Beth was born in Albany on Oct. 31, 1967. She was the beloved daughter of William “Bill” and Margaret “Peg“ Stevens. Beth devoted her life to the care and well-being of others. She spent the majority of her career caring for adults with intellectual disabilities as a direct care provider and, later, as a Registered Nurse having graduated from Maria College in 1997. Beth married Anthony “Nino” Miuccio in November 1986, and they had two children, Nicholas and Caitlin. Nino died in 1991. In 2010, she moved to St. Augustine, FL, to help care for her mother and father. After Bill died in 2011, Beth spent the next decade as Peg’s primary caregiver and her live-in companion. They bonded over their love for warm weather and the ocean. Peg died in 2021. Beth had a lifelong passion for animals, especially horses. She followed her passion and volunteered at a therapeutic riding center for people with intellectual disabilities in St. Augustine. She moved back to Albany in her final months to be near her children and grandchildren who brought her so much joy. Beth is predeceased by her former husband Nino and her parents and her dear sister, Meg Stevens (2010). She is survived by her partner David Baglione of Guilderland; her son Nick (Sara) of Albany and their three children; Nino, Ava & Ellie; daughter Catie (Craig Helms) of Albany and their two children; Ethan & Cameron; two brothers, Tony (Toni) of Pikeville, NC, and Rik (Lisabritt Solsky) of Concord, NH; several cousins, nieces and nephews; and a host of friends in both Albany and St. Augustine. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Beth’s family Monday, November 14, 2022 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at McVeigh Funeral Home, 208 North Allen Street, Albany, NY 12206.
