Eileen Frances Devine

Albany-Devine, Eileen Frances of Albany passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving daughters on August 26, 2013 at Eddy Village Green Nursing Home. Born in Amsterdam, NY February 22, 1923 to Bertha and Bernard Polinsky. Predeceased by her adoring mother, Bertha Farrell, wonderful stepfather Stephen Farrell and only sibling, Bernard Polinsky. She shared a beautiful marriage with her husband of 52 years, James J. Devine before his passing in 1996. Eileen was a proud and active alumnus of Vincentian Institute, class of ’41. She was a devout member of Mater Christi parish since its inception. Spending most of her years as a homemaker, Eileen was employed in her later years by her daughter Sue at Sandwiches to Go where she enjoyed witty conversation with Albany’s finest lunch patrons. She will be cherished & remembered for her zest for life, her love of dance and travel and her role as Princess in the Night Owls bowling league. Eileen is survived by her daughters, Carol Kayo (Bill) of Albany, Susan Donohue (Jim) of Saratoga Springs and Mary Cole (Jeff) of Voorheesville; her grandchildren Tracey Twarog, Michael and Kristen Kayo, Sean and Justin Donohue, Andrew and Emily Cole and great grandchildren Samantha Kayo and Jett Donohue. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to Dr. Dan Eldredge of Saratoga Springs as well as each & every member of Marjorie Doyle Rockwell Center for giving Eileen such compassionate & dignified care. We also want to express our appreciation and fondness for Brooke and our “special angels” who helped Eileen on her final journey over these past few months. Many thanks to her hospice team Colleen, Cheryl, Amy, Chaplain Andy & Jen. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 30, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. at the Church of Mater Christi, 40 Hopewell St., Albany. A calling hour will precede the service at McVeigh Funeral Home, 208 N. Allen St., Albany from 8:00-9:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Resident Activity Fund, Marjorie Doyle Rockwell Center, 421 W.
