Antonio Simeone

Albany-Antonio Simeone, 68, died Monday, October 12, 2009 at St. Peter’s Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Minturno, Italy, he was the son of the late Ralph and Vincenza Portogallo Simeone. Antonio came to America in 1965, at the age of 25. He served in the Italian Navy, and worked in Italy as a Fisherman and Life Guard. Antonio retired as a laborer with Local 190, Glenmont. He enjoyed his family; gardening; the ocean and beaches; fishing; traveling with his wife, family, and friends; cruises,; Atlantic City; Racino; playing cards with his brothers and friends; singing; playing guitar; Elvis…and everything in life! He was a member of the West Albany Italian Benevolent Society. He was the beloved husband of Agatina Cangemi Simeone; loved father of Antonio Simeone (Natalie), Maria Simeone Edwards, and Tina Simeone; father –in- law of Brian Edwards; cherished grandfather of Antonia, Brianna, and Anthony Edwards; brother of Liberato Simeone (Maria), Salvatore Simeone (Sally), Pasquale Simeone, Gerald Simeone, Rose Simeone, Maria Simeone, Amelia Simeone and the late Giuseppe Simeone (Grazia); son-in- law of Maria Cangemi and the late Mario Cangemi; brother-in law of Frank Cangemi (Clelia)and Nunzio Cangemi (Mary); many nieces, nephews, cousins, family, friends, and in-laws also survive. The family would like to thank the staff and nurses at St. Peter’s Hospital, especially everyone on 5 Brady Farrell. Funeral services Thursday October 15, 2009 at 8:00 am from the McVeigh Funeral Home, 208 North Allen Street, Albany thence to the Parish of All Saints Catholic Church, Western Ave. at Homestead, St., Albany, NY 12203 at 9:00 am where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Wednesday, October 14, 2009 4:00 to 7:00 pm in the funeral home. Interment will follow the Mass at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery.
