Anthony Louis Sidoti

Albany, NY-Surrounded by his Family and always making it known that the Lord would take care of him, Anthony Louis Sidoti, age 84, entered into Eternal Life on the Lord’s Day, Sunday, March 10, 2024. Son of the late Bosti and Mary Sidoti, Anthony was born at their home on 26 Bassett Street. Anthony was raised in the South End of Albany, graduated from St. John’s High School, and joined his brothers establishing Sidoti Movers and the Manor Department Store. He served in the United States Army Reserve. Anthony had a long work history with Albany County. He loved spending time with his family, including his very special canine family members, Teddy, Buddy, Pop, Mr. Wiggles, Bella, Stuart, Pearl, Chachi, Maisey, Giacomo, Nala, and Gracie. He enjoyed horse racing, the race track, OTB, and the casinos. Anthony is survived by his wife of 62 years, Antoinette Viggiano Sidoti, sweethearts since 1958; his children, Angela M. Feisthamel (John), and Anthony John Sidoti (Deana); his grandchildren, Kevin J. Feisthamel (Rachele), Melanie R. Yanni (Christian), Anthony Joseph Sidoti, and Alexandra M. Sidoti. Anthony was the cherished great-grandfather of Gigi and Mason. Anthony is also survived by his sisters, Mary Martha Fazio and Frances Paula McCoy (William); sisters-in-law, Patricia Sidoti and Rosalie Sidoti; brothers-in-law Gary Viggiano (Robin) and Angelo Viggiano (Sharon). He is also survived by his aunts, Frances Johns and Amelia Belschwinder, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, including long- time friends, Mike DeSano, John Fisher, and Paul Barbagallo. Anthony was predeceased by his brothers, Richard, Louis, Thomas, and Joseph, and his sister Bernadette; sister-in-law Mary G. Sidoti, and brother-in-law Tony Fazio. The family would like to extend a special thank you to all of the healthcare professionals that cared for Anthony during his illness, especially Dr. Christian Gasson, Dr. Kevin Costello, Dr. Patrick Caulfield, St. Peter’s Hospital, The Community Hospice, and Shaker Place Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. Thank you to Whitehall Court Apartments for their friendship and love. Anthony will be missed every day for the rest of our lives. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Anthony’s friends Wednesday, March 13, 2024 10:00 am to 11:30 am at the Parish of Mater Christi, 40 Hopewell Street, Albany, NY. His Funeral Mass will follow at 11:30 am. The Rite of Committal will be held at Graceland Cemetery immediately following the Mass.
