Virginia "Sissie" Teresa Long

May 19, 1932 - February 5, 2022

Glenmont- Virginia Teresa “Sissie” Long entered into eternal life on February 5, 2022. Born in Albany, NY on May 19, 1932, known as Sissie to her loved ones, she is the daughter of the late Anthony Peter and Mary Rose (Parry) Cocazzella Long. Ginny is predeceased by her sisters Rose (Cocazzella) Cohen and Carol Carolyn Long, as well as her nieces Virginia Charlotte (Cohen) Maxwell Wagoner, and Karen Rose (Maxwell) Lansing. She is survived by her loving nieces and nephews Michael Joseph Lansing, Kaitlin Rose (Lansing) Morton and her husband Ameek Morton, Michael Joseph Lansing, Jr., Kevin Maxwell Lansing, Christopher John Lansing (her favorite Godson), Hannah Carolyn Lansing, Donovan Michael Morton, and Ireland Rose Morton, as well as her canine and feline companions. Sissie faithfully served the State of New York as the Secretary to the Attorney General’s Office for over 45 years. Her greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with her family. She always cherished her loved ones, and her unwavering dedication to her family was steadfast. With a heavy heart, we as a family say goodbye to Sissie today but will remember and love her forever. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Sissie’s family Thursday, February 10, 2022 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the McVeigh Funeral Home, 208 North Allen Street, Albany, NY 12206. Please only enter the funeral home from the rear parking lot entrance. Masks are required for everyone. Funeral services Friday, February 11, 2022 at 10:30 am at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 58 3rd Street, Troy, NY. Interment will follow at Memory Garden’s Cemetery immediately following the Service.
