Ruth Mary McGrath

Loudonville-Ruth Mary McGrath, 92, was born into Eternal Life Saturday, March 12, 2011 in the Hospice Inn at St. Peter’s Hospital with her beloved family at her bedside. Born in Albany, she was the daughter of the late John A. and Clara Gardner Bylancik. Ruth worked as a beautician before she became a devoted and wonderful wife and mother. As a homemaker she took great pride in caring for her ten children, and she adored and took pride in each of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. To the end of her life she took great joy in tending to her gardens and her birds. She was predeceased by her husband, John E. McGrath Sr in November of 1990. She was the mother of John E. (Jack) McGrath, Jr and his wife Mary (Micki), Patrick M. McGrath Sr and his wife Mary Lou, Richard T. (Dick) McGrath and his wife Toni, Maryann McGrath and her husband John Dsurney, Thomas F. McGrath and his wife Margaret, Gerald E. McGrath and his wife Fernanda, Ruth M. Sano and her husband Robert, Jean M. Eppelmann and Joan M. Lutz and her husband Alan; sister of the late Edwin Bylancik, John J. Blylancik, Brother John Capistran, CSC, and Mary A. (Babe) Bylancik (formerly Sister Mary Andrew, RSM); she is survived by 28 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The family extend’s a heartfelt thank you to the staff at St. Peter’s Hospital and the Hospice Inn at St. Peter’s for the wonderful care and concern given to Ruth. Funeral services Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at 8:45 am from the McVeigh Funeral Home, 208 North Allen Street, Albany thence to St. Pius X Church, Loudonville at 9:30 am where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Tuesday, March 15, 2011 4:00 to 8:00 pm in the funeral home. Interment Our Lady of Angels Cemetery.
