    Patricia A. Margiotta

    June 16, 1949 - October 10, 2021

    Loudonville-Patricia “Pat” A. Margiotta, 72, passed away peacefully on October 10th, after a brief, but courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Born in Albany, NY, she was the daughter of the late Dominic and Margaret Maimone of Loudonville, NY. Raised in West Albany, NY, Pat was a 1967 graduate of Colonie Central High School. Upon graduating from nursing school in 1969, Pat had a 35 year nursing career at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Albany. Following her retirement in 2004, Pat went on to work as a substitute nurse in the South Colonie School District for another 13 years. In her free time, Pat was an avid quilter and belonged to both the Q.U.I.L.T., Inc. and the Wing Falls Quilters Guilds. She was also an active member of the Albany County Board of Elections and the Town of Colonie Seniors, as well as the Siena College Opera Club. Throughout her lifetime, Pat greatly enjoyed traveling with her family and friends, making many return trips to Italy and Cocoa Beach, FL. Pat’s generosity with her family, friends, and her community was boundless. She will forever be remembered for her willingness to help, and for the countless quilts and knitted creations she gifted to loved ones and area organizations each year. Pat is survived by her loving daughter, Michele May (Charlie); her beloved grandchildren, Madden, Drew and Henry Solomon and Mackenzie and Jacob May; cherished siblings, Nancy Lovett (Bruce) and Paul Maimone; adored nieces and nephews, Victoria Lovett, Jennifer Leiter (Benjamin), James Lovett (Bonnie), Michael Maimone, and great niece, Sophie. She is also survived by her much loved aunt, Betty Anne Hart, and numerous cousins and many life-long friends. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Pat’s family on Friday, October 15th, 2021 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at McVeigh Funeral Home, 208 North Allen Street, Albany, NY 12206. Please only enter the funeral home through the rear parking lot doorway. All attendees must wear a mask and practice social distancing. Funeral Services will take place on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at 10:00 am at Christ Our Light Catholic Church, 1 Maria Drive, Loudonville, NY 12211. All attendees are required to wear a mask and to observe social distancing guidelines. The Rite of Internment will immediately follow the mass at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Central Avenue, Colonie, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Pat’s name to The Community Hospice Foundation, 310 Manning Boulevard, Albany, NY 12208.
