Lela Briner Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

North Carolina - Lela M. Briner, 84, died peacefully on June 24, 2022 at Mercy Hospital in Charlotte. Born in Albany, NY, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Ethel McGeough Moore. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Carl Briner, Jr. and her sisters, Ethel Memole and Elizabeth Gizzi. She is survived by her brother, Frances Moore. She worked for the New York State Health Dept., until retiring to Orlando, FL. Lela was a member of St Pius X Church for nearly 40 years before retiring to Orlando with her loving husband of 57 years, Carl Briner Jr. She spent the last six years living in Charlotte to be close to family. Lela loved spending time at the beach and with her grandchildren when she could. Lela and Carl loved going out to restaurants and happy hours were they would meet new people and make new friends. Family and friends are going to miss her smiling face. Lela is survived by her two sons, Jeffrey (Debbie) of Huntsville AL., Gregory (Lorri) of Charlotte; and four grandchildren, Sophia Briner and Alex, Nicholas and Nathaniel Briner. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Lela’s family on Thursday, June 30, 2022 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm in the McVeigh Funeral Home, 208 North Allen Street, Albany, NY 12206. Please only enter the funeral home from the rear parking lot doors. Lela’s Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Pius X Church on Friday, July 1, 2022 at 10:00 am. Interment will follow the Mass at St. Agnes Cemetery Mausoleum.
