Albany-Kathleen Adair, born Janurary 19th, 1952, daughter of John R. Adair, Sr and Anne V. (Gander) Adair died peacefully on Saturday, Dec. 1st. She was the loving wife of Brian Collis, and sister of John R. (Dick) Adair Jr.(Roslyn), Patricia Bryant ( late Stephen), Ellen Silva (late Jose), and Jeanne Gaudio (late Angelo). The proud aunt of Angelo Gaudio, Gina Gaudio, Jennifer (Bryon), John and Heather Adair, and Amanda Silva Mirandes (Enrique). Kathy was a graduate of Marylrose Academy and the State University at Brockport, beginning her career as a teacher of religious education at St. Casmir’s school in Albany. After moving to Boston, Kathy was employed as a sales representative for K-Tel record company and served in the US Army Reserve. After returning to Albany to care for her ailing mother, she became an active member of the St. John’s/St Ann’s parish community. As a parish member she was an avid participant in the annual Spring Run Benefit and coordinated the Family Holiday Gift Program for over ten years. A dedicated volunteer at the Parish Center, Kathy participated in organizing and serving weekly lunches, assisting the food pantry and other activities when the Outreach Center was in need of her help. Kathy was also involved for many years as a teacher in the Literacy Volunteer program. During that time Kathy met the man who would become her loving husband for the next twenty-four years. After their marriage Kathy became active in Brian’s company, Mr. Ding a Ling Ice Cream, a truck vending concern covering northeastern New York, western Massachusetts and Vermont. For years until illness took its toll, Kathy and Brian traveled extensively on ocean cruises and outings with their Corvette Club. Our family would like to thank all the many friends for their loving support. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Mater Christi Church, Albany, on Friday, Dec 7th at 11:30 AM.
