Judith A. Tripoli

Colonie-Judith Ann Tripoli was born into eternal life on December 26, 2015 at Albany Medical Center, surrounded by her family. Daughter of the late Theresa A. and Herbert W. Burmaster, she was born in 1934 in Albany. She graduated from Saint James School in 1947 and The Academy of the Holy Names in 1951. She received a B.S. in Education from The College of St. Rose in 1955. Judith began her teaching career at Fort Hunter Elementary School in Guilderland, and continued at the Cherry Lane Elementary School in Carle Place, N.Y. Judith was the loving wife of her cherished husband, the late Anthony P. Tripoli, D.C., for thirty-two years. She was the beloved mother of Susan M. (Tripoli) Casagranda, and her husband Paolo Casagranda of Brooklyn, N.Y., Therese A. Tripoli and her husband David Krasnow of Brooklyn, N.Y., Daniel A. Tripoli and his wife Lori A. Tripoli of Ballston Lake, N.Y., and Stephen M. Tripoli of Saratoga, N.Y. She leaves behind six wonderful grandchildren -- Anthony P. and Christian F. Casagranda, Luisa J. Tripoli-Krasnow, and Elizabeth L. and Isabel A. and Aidan J. Tripoli. Judith is also survived by her dear brother Richard J. Burmaster and sister-in-law Elizabeth B. Burmaster of Deerfield Beach, Florida, and five nieces -- Mary Elizabeth Speicher, Patricia A. Johnson, Barbara A. Field, Kathleen E. Manning, Kara M. Heckler. She was predeceased by a nephew, Matthew Burmaster. Judith inspired loyalty to family, friends and neighbors. She was a dedicated mother, sister, and friend. She found joy in the family that she created and surrounded her life with purpose and originality. She was an accomplished artisan who created or restored beauty to everything she touched. She enjoyed sewing and knitting, and took pride in decorating her home with exquisite and intricate quilts that she handmade. Her passion for cooking and gardening filled our stomachs and hearts, and provided “sparkling conversation” around our kitchen table night after night. Judith will be remembered for her intelligence, sense of humor, sharp commentaries on the news, and love of telling stories. A perfect day for Judith was spending time at the Cape, taking a dip in the ocean, and reading a novel while basking in the sun surrounded by family. Judith will be greatly missed and never forgotten. Funeral services Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at 10:00 am in The Academy of the Holy Names St. Joseph Chapel, Albany where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. All are invited to attend. Interment will immediately follow the Mass at Calvary Cemetery, Glenmont There will be no public visitation period.
