    Josephine Fraley

    February 19, 2022

Albany-Josephine Fraley passed away peacefully on February 19, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Albany and lived there her whole life. She was a devout catholic and a parishioner of Blessed Sacrament Church. She enjoyed volunteering at Blessed Sacrament’s Thrift and the Food Pantry. Josie thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her children, grand children and great grandchildren. Her family was the center of her life. She was great Italian cook and made sure everyone was always fed and full. She visited and cared for the sick, she had a core group of friends (The 8 Club Girls) who were friends since elementary school, she attended daily mass, and she was a dedicated New York Yankees fan. Josephine was full of love and compassion for everyone. It was a thrill to have the family together for a traditional Italian dinner for Sundays and Holidays. She was predeceased by her husband Edward J. Fraley in 1978. She is survived by her five loving children; Edward Fraley (Anne Marie), Joseph Fraley (Denise), Stephen Fraley (Deborah), Maria Sour (Joby), and Patricia Briskin (Stuart). She was blessed with eleven grandchildren; Joshua (Grace Mattoon) and Nicholas Fraley, Jason (Alison) and Derek Fraley, Stephen Jr. Fraley (Cortney) and Felicia Myers (John), Kara (Fiancé Mitchell) and Christopher Sour, Amanda (Fiancé Jacob) and Courtney and Daniel McDonnell Jr., and four step grandchildren. Josie is also survived by eight great grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Josie’s family Monday, February 21, 2022 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the McVeigh Funeral Home, 208 North Allen Street, Albany, NY 12206.
