    Jacqueline "Jackie" A. Perry

    June 4, 1939 - February 10, 2022

    ALTAMONT -- Jacqueline Anne Perry, 82, beloved wife and mother, went home to the Lord on Thursday, February 10, 2022. She received her final wish by spending her last moments surrounded by her loving family at home. Born in Albany on June 4, 1939, she was a graduate of Albany High School. It was there that she met the love of her life, Joseph Perry. They were married for 62 years. Jackie attended Russell Sage College in Troy, and after starting her family with Joe she worked as a Claims Analyst Supervisor for Blue Cross/Blue Shield. Jackie is survived by her adoring husband, Joe, and their four wonderful children, Michael (Laura) and Joseph Perry, Jr., Mary Nastvogel (Tony) and Jacqueline Genovesi (Jeff). In addition, she is mourned by her eight grandchildren, Morgan, Reid, Stephen, Emma, Gabrielle, Thomas, Sam, Carmella(Mathew), and the new joy of her life, great grandchild Mathew Joseph. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. And brother John Weizenhofer. Jackie was an accomplished quilter. She was an active member of the Voorheesville Quilting Club and the Train Station Quilters in Altamont, where she often contributed her skills to service projects for transplant patients, the NICU, and Child Protective Services. Jackie could sew just about anything on the custom table made for her by Joe, but her gorgeous quilts are her true legacy. She was also a daily crossword puzzler, an avid exerciser with the Strong Bones group, and enjoyed Friday morning coffee with friends at Mike's. In their retirement, Jackie and Joe loved to take cruises and travel abroad. Her favorite family vacations were her annual trips to Maine. Jackie was a life-long member of the church choir, and Christ the King bereavement choir. She lived each day in gratitude for her life’s many blessings. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Jackie’s family Sunday, February 13, 2022 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the McVeigh Funeral Home, 208 North Allen Street, Albany, NY 12206. The parish family of Christ the King Church will gather at 3:30 pm for a service of prayer and remembrance. All are welcome. Please only enter the funeral home from the rear parking lot entrance. Unvaccinated individuals must wear a mask and practice social distancing. Funeral services Monday, February 14, 2022 at 12:00 pm at Christ the King Church, Westmere, NY where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated. The Rite of Committal will be held at St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands, NY immediately following the Funeral Mass.
