Donald H. Marsh Sr.

Albany-Donald H. Marsh Sr, 85, entered Eternal Life Thursday, March 31, 2022 at Albany Medical Center Hospital. Born in Albany, he was the son of Roy E. and Alice E. Zimmer Marsh Sr. Don had a long history serving his Country, first in the United States Marine Corps from 1953-1962 and during the Korean War and then in the National Guard from 1970-1990 retiring as Sargent Major. Don loved America and was a true Patriot. He was a member of the Capt. William Dale O’Brien Marine Corps League; the 210th Armored Association; the O’Connor and Sullivan VFW Post; the American Legion Post 178, Murelles Inlet, NY; and the Grand Strand Detachment Marine Corps League, Myrtle Beach, SC. Don was also a member of the International Golf Club, Myrtle Beach, SC. Don worked over 35 years for the Capital District Transportation Authority. He was the husband of Bette McLaughlin Marsh; father of Mary E. Morrow (Gerald), Charlene Stewart (Richard), Sue Ellen McConville (John), Donna Cooper, Donald H. Marsh Jr, Deborah DiBella, Michael Monette, and John Monette; brother of the late Roy E. Marsh Jr (late Connie); survived by 15 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and his beloved cat Peaches. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Don’s family Wednesday, April 6, 2022 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at McVeigh Funeral Home, 208 North Allen Street, Albany, NY 12206. Funeral services Thursday, April 7, 2022 at 9:00 am at Blessed Sacrament Church, 607 Central Ave. (Father John Bradley Way), Albany, NY 12206 where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated. The Rite of Committal will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery immediately following the Mass. Those wishing to remember Donald H.
