Anna Morigerato Ferlazzo

Albany-Anna Morigerato Ferlazzo, age 92, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2017 at Albany Medical Center surrounded by her family. Anna was born in Patti, Sicily on October 16, 1924, where she was raised and educated. She graduated from Messina Prepatory Teacher’s College with a major in languages. As a youth she worked as a governess. At age 26, Anna immigrated through Ellis Island and married Salvatore J. Ferlazzo and raised four children, Silvia, John (Carol), Salvatore (Donna) and Linda ( Bill Corbin). She worked at the Italian Consulate office as an interptor. Her main career was a pharmacist assistant at AMC until 1973. Anna loved to travel, visiting Italy often. She also loved gardening, swimming, reading, sewing and cooking for family gatherings. Anna was particularly devoted to Saint Padre Pio and Saint Anthony and her loving grandchildren, Theresa Marcello (Joseph), Donald Ferlazzo (Jamie), William Corbin (Marissa), Christopher (Fiancé Jolie Rahal) and Jonathan (Emily), girlfriend and her two great grandchildren Joseph Marcello and Jason Corbin. She was predeceased by her parents Gesualdo Morigerato and Maria Marrella Morigerato, her infant son Joseph and her loving husband of 60 years, Salvatore J. Ferlazzo. She was also predeceased by her brothers Dominic and Nino and her sister Sarina and her nephew Dominic Morigerato. Her other brothers Anthony (Barbara deceased) and Tindinaro (Sandy) Morigerato, and her sister in law Angie Dys survive her. Funeral services Saturday, February 4, 2017 at 8:15 am from McVeigh Funeral Home, Albany thence to All Saints Catholic Church, Albany at 9:00 am where a Funeral Mass will be celebrated. Following the Mass the Rite of Interment will commence at Calvary Cemetery, Glenmont,NY.
