Amanda Marable, A long-time resident of the Albany, NY area, departed this life on Friday April 10th 2020 at the Select Specialty Hospital in Rochelle Park, NJ after a brief illness. Amanda was born on February 21st, 1945 to the late Willie Morton and Queen Edmondson. As a child, Amanda attended the Rosenwald Clover Elementary school going on to attend Mary Bethune High school in Halifax, Virginia. Amanda loved good food and socializing, enjoyed going to the movies, plays and comedy shows with family and friends, her favorite pastime besides bowling was fishing. She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Forever touching the lives of all that knew her even those she had just met with kindness, love and compassion. Amanda always worked hard in career and family responsibilities. Her faith in God held no boundaries as well as her dedication to the Union Missionary Baptist Church, she was a person of devout faith and spirituality. Amand Marable is survived by her husband of almost 50yrs James Marable SR, daughter Charlene(John)Marable-Icangelo, James Marable JR. One brother William Morton one sister Mildred Morton, 8 grandchildren 3great-grandchildren a host of nieces and nephews close family friends and Union Missionary Baptist Church family. Because of the Covid-19 epidemic, there will be a private funeral service for the immediate family at McVeigh Funeral Home 208 N.Allen st Albany, NY. There will be a Memorial Service held for her later on. We thank you for all your well wishes, prayers and heartfelt sympathies and we pray for all to be safe and have a bless living.
