Ronald R. Guiry

ALBANY, NY – Ronald R. Guiry, 85, passed peacefully Monday, May 25, 2026. Raised in Albany, he was born Nov 14, 1940. Son of the late John and Rose Provo Guiry. He was the beloved husband of Eileen Foley Guiry for 54 years. Ron was the adored father to Christopher Guiry (Sheila Burke Guiry) and proud grandfather of Patrick Guiry (Rachel) and Ryan Guiry (Alexis). He is survived by his dear sister, Shirley Guiry Parker (the late Richard) from Rochester, NY. He is also survived by many much loved nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Ron was pre-deceased by his sisters, Joan Garrison (Gary), Patricia Mahan (Joseph), Mary (Sissy) Stewart (Frank), Barbara Poole (Robert) and his brothers, Jack (Diane) and Paul, also nephews John Guiry, Jeffrey Stewart, nieces Kathy Parker Raeside, and Debbie Mahan O’Connor. He graduated from St. Joseph’s Academy in Albany. Ronnie was employed 12 years with PPG Industries as a glazier. He was employed with New York State at The OMRDD-OD Heck Developmental Center as a general mechanic for 25 years. He was a life member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, especially proud of his Irish heritage having travelled to his ancestral home in Clonmel, Ireland on his 70th birthday with his son, Chris. Ron was also a life member of The Knights of St. John, Commandry 102. He was an avid fan of John Wayne, enjoyed whittling walking sticks for family and friends. He was greeted at the rainbow bridge by Mickey and Duke, his beloved canine pets. Ron’s family sincerely thanks staff at Peregrine Colonie and Shaker Place Rehab and Nursing Facility, especially Dr. Caulfield, for the tender care shown to Ron. John Bradley Way) Albany, NY 12206, where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated. The Rite of Committal will be held at St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands, NY immediately following the Mass.
