Robert Francis Brady

ALBANY-It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Francis Brady, who passed away on September 3, 2026, at the age of 74. Robert was born on October 6, 1951, to James Brady and Anna Mae Brady (Johnson). He lived a life marked by kindness, generosity, and genuine thoughtfulness. He was an exceptionally generous man who cared deeply about the people around him. He never hesitated to help someone in need, give what he could, or offer a thoughtful gesture simply to make someone else’s day a little better. Robert proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy. His military service was an important part of his life and is remembered with gratitude and respect. For 44 years, Robert dedicated himself to his career as a Security Officer at Albany Medical Center. His many years of service reflected his strong sense of responsibility, dependability, and dedication to the people around him. He devoted much of his working life to helping protect and care for others, and his long-standing commitment to Albany Medical Center was something to be proud of. Robert was the beloved husband of Mary Brady, with whom he shared his life and many years of memories. Although Robert and Mary did not have children of their own, family was always important to Robert. He treasured his extended family and shared a particularly special bond with his many nieces and nephews, whom he adored dearly. He took great joy in being their uncle and held a special place in his heart for each of them. One of the things his nieces and nephews will always remember about Uncle Robert was how he could never resist teaching them a martial arts move whenever they were together. No family gathering seemed complete without Robert showing one of them a move and sharing a little of what he knew. It was one of the many playful and memorable ways he connected with them, and those moments will surely bring smiles and laughter for years to come. Robert was preceded in death by his brothers, James Brady, Daniel Brady, and Terrance Brady, and his sister, Patricia Brady. He is survived by his sister, Joanie Donato (Brady), his many beloved nieces and nephews, extended family, and dear friends. Robert had a special love for music, especially playing the guitar and harmonica. Music brought him happiness and was a wonderful expression of his personality and spirit. Those who heard him play will carry those memories with them. Above all, Robert will be remembered for his extraordinarily generous heart and thoughtful nature. He gave freely, loved deeply, and asked for little in return. He had a way of making people feel special, cared for, and remembered. His kindness was genuine, and the impact he had on the people who knew him will remain long after his passing. Robert will be deeply missed by Mary, Joanie, his nieces and nephews, extended family, friends, former coworkers, and all those whose lives he touched throughout his 74 years. His memory will live on in the stories we share, the music he loved, the years of service he devoted to others, and the countless acts of kindness he gave so freely. Rest peacefully, Robert. Your music may be quiet now, but the love, kindness, laughter, and memories you left behind will continue to play in our hearts. You were deeply loved, and you will never be forgotten.
