Dr. Peter V. Primomo

Loudonville-Dr. Peter V. Primomo entered Eternal Life Thursday, July 14, 2016 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Albany, he was the son of the late William O. Primomo and Maria Domenica Martelli. Peter attended Albany Public Schools, was a graduate of Siena College with a Bachelor of Science Degree in 1954, and then graduated from Georgetown University, School of Dentistry in 1958. After graduation from dental school, Peter entered the US Navy, was sent to the Naval Base in Brooklyn, NY and was then assigned to the 3rd Marine Division in Okinowa. He retired as a Commander in the US Navy Reserve in 1991. After his tour of duty with the Navy, he joined his brother, Dr. Gene V. Primomo in the private practice of dentistry, where they practiced together for 35 years. Peter was a member of the American Dental Association, the New York State Dental Society, and was also a Fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry. He was President of the 3rd District Dental Society from 1981-82. He served on the Georgetown University Alumni Board of Governors from 1982-85. Peter had an active life, was an avid squash player, and enjoyed playing golf with his many friends, especially with his grandsons. He was also a Civil War buff and enjoyed the opera and classical music. His grandchildren were his pride and joy, and in 2005 he wrote and self-published a children’s book entitled “A Hole in the Shoe” and dedicated it to them. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Primomo; daughters Pamela Ann Mineaux (John) and Patricia Mary Wrotniak (Michael); grandchildren Michael, William and Mary Wrotniak, Peter Alley, and Eliza Mineaux and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Dr. John S. Primomo and Dr. Gene V. Primomo. There will be no public visitation. Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at 10:30 am at St. Pius X Church, Loudonville, where a Funeral Mass will be celebrated. The Rite of Interment will immediately follow the Mass at St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
