Paul A. Schell

Albany, NY-Paul Arthur Schell was Born into Eternal Life surrounded by his family on January 13, 2025. Paul, the son of George Jessie Schell & Ruth (Fagan) Schell, was born in Albany, NY on January 17, 1931. At the age of 19 he joined the United States Navy and was assigned to the Construction Battalion where he developed his skills as a Carpenter. Paul met the Love of his Life, Patricia Ann Dinneen on a blind date and they both knew from the start that they were meant to be together. They traveled by car from New York to California to be together before Paul join his ship headed for his first duty station in Korea. He also served in Kwajalein in the Republic of the Marshall Islands and later in Adak Alaska. Honorably Discharged he returned to Albany. Paul and Patricia were happily married on January 24, 1953. They enjoyed camping, playing cards, and traveling. Paul worked at Iroquois Millwork for 45 years before retiring. He also spent over 65 years of his life volunteering for the Blessed Sacrament Church Community and School. Most recently serving 25 years in the Food Pantry. Paul was predeceased by his wife of 57 years, Patricia, his father George and his beloved stepmother, Margaret “Peg” (Ross) Schell, his brother Robert, and mother Ruth. He is survived by his daughters, Pamela Bennett, Paula Schell (George), Phyllis Moynihan, and Patricia (Charles) Luce. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Garrett and Paul J. (Laura) Moynihan, Meghan and Erica Luce, and Sarah (Justin) Notaro, and his great-grandchildren, Jaymin and Lainey Notaro, and Camila, Luna and Paul D. Moynihan. And many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Stratton VA Hospital Home Bound Care Team and Community Hospice for their wonderful care and support of Paul. Relatives and friends are invited to visit Paul’s family on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, from 8:30 am to 10 am at McVeigh’s Funeral Home, 208 N. Allen St, Albany, NY 12206. Please enter the funeral home from the rear parking lot only. His Funeral Mass will follow at 10:30 am at Blessed Sacrament Church, 607 Central Ave Albany, NY 12206. Reverend Dan Quinn will celebrate the mass. Interment immediately following at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, 1389 Central Ave, Colonie, NY 12205.
