Oldemiro "AL" Henrique Prudencio

Albany-Oldemiro “AL” Henrique Prudencio, 70, of Albany, NY, passed away May 14, 2021 at Cleveland Clinc Tradition Hospital in Port St. Lucie FL. Born on December 21, 1950 in Lajes, Terceira, Azores, Portugal, Oldemiro was the son of the late Henrique and Angelina (de Jesus) Prudencio. He was raised and educated in Portugal. He served in the Portuguese Army and was a firefighter on the American Airforce Base in Lajes, Terceira, Portugal. He immigrated to the United States in 1981. Oldemiro was a hard worker and provider for his family; He worked for Frank C Meyer and Wang Laboratories before fulfilling his dream of becoming a Dunkin Donuts Franchisee. He was extremely passionate about his business that he ran for over 20 years. He will be remembered as a family man. He was dedicated to his family and his loved ones. Oldemiro was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He loved watching his favorite soccer team, Porto, and watching his touradas “bullfights” on youtube. A parishioner of St. Peter and Paul Church in Lawrence, Ma and later of Parish of Mater Christi in Albany, NY. Oldemiro was also a member of the Portuguese American Civic Club and of the Holy Ghost Fraternity in Lawrence, Ma. He was also a member of the P.A.C.C in Port St. Lucie, FL. Oldemiro is survived by his wife of fifty years, Lucia da Carmo (Arruda) Prudencio; Children: Miro and his wife Gina Prudencio of Loudonville, NY. Ana Cristina and her husband Miguel Teixeira of Glenville, NY. Oldemiro also leaves behind five grandchildren: Felicity, Lucas and Leandra Prudencio. Elena and Enzo Teixeira. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with his family Thursday, May 20, 2021 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the McVeigh Funeral Home, 208 North Allen Street, Albany, NY 12206. Funeral services Friday, May 21, 2021 at 9:30 am at the Parish of Mater Christi, Albany, NY where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated.
