Maria Caricari

Albany-Maria Cherubino Caricari, 92, entered Eternal Life Wednesday, April 14, anno Domini 2021 at home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Siderno Marina (RC), Italy she was the daughter of the late Giuseppe and Immacolata Macchina. Maria emigrated to the United States in 1963. She retired from Simmons Fasteners in 2001. Maria enjoyed cooking, especially Sunday dinners for her cherished family. She also enjoyed making traditional Italian sweets and cookies from her hometown in Italy, along with the best meatballs and pignolata. She enjoyed gardening, knitting and embroidering. Her passion in life was her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. All who knew Maria loved her, and she will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She was the wife of the late Antonio Cherubino and Giuseppe Caricari; beloved mother of Rosanna Bongiorno (Felice), Elena Giglio (Giacomo), Carlo Cherubino (Melissa) and Roberto Caricari (Christine); beloved grandmother of Sabrina Mason (Greg), Adriano Bongiorno (Vanessa), Dan Giglio (Christine), Giacomo Giglio, Teresa Giglio, Antonio Caricari and Kristina Cherubino; great grandmother of Michael, Adriana, Richard, Alessandra, Lauren and Lorenzo; sister of Dina Macchina Commisso (late Enzo), Pina Maselli (Filippo), and the late Armando Macchina (Tina), Elena Macchina, Pupa Riccio (Osvaldo); survived by many nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff and doctors at St. Peter’s Hospital for the care and kindness shown Maria. Thank you also to The Community Hospice for making the transition easier.
