Kevin T. McCann

Delmar- Kevin T. McCann died peacefully surrounded by his loving family on July 31, 2017 at the Hospice Inn in St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany. Kevin was born February 18, 1950 in Albany to the late Paul and Bettie McCann. He was a 1968 graduate of Vincentian Institute in Albany. Kevin worked for many years as a contractor and landscaper in the Capital District Area and was also a well-known area antiques collector and dealer. He was an accomplished artist and guitarist and appeared at Café Lena in Saratoga Springs, The Fox Hollow Festival in Petersburgh, New York, The Eighth Step Coffee House in Albany, and other local venues. In recent years he enjoyed fishing at Burden Lake in Averill Park and especially September striped bass fishing in Cape Cod. He especially enjoyed the weekly, semi-serious pinochle games with his father and brothers. Kevin had an unparalleled sense of humor which forever will be recalled and remembered by family and friends. If you ever had the pleasure to meet Kevin, it is unlikely you will ever forget him. Kevin is survived by his beloved wife of forty years Nancy (Shea) McCann and their children Cody (Tanya) McCann of Loudonville, New York; Erin (John David) Filippone of Glenmont, New York and Kyle McCann of Delmar, New York, and the loves of his life, his grandchildren Jackson, Samuel and Maxwell Filippone. He is also survived by his siblings Annette (Jim) Facteau of Punta Gorda, Florida; David (Nancy) McCann of Guilderland, New York; Marybeth (Daniel Murphy) Barry of Watervliet, New York; James (Sherron) McCann of Long Beach, California; Therese McCann of Delmar, New York and Dennis (Rita) McCann of Albany, New York, as well as many nieces and nephews and their children. Kevin was predeceased by his sister Martha McCann. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Kevin’s family Friday August 4th 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the McVeigh Funeral Home, 208 North Allen Street, Albany, New York. Funeral services Saturday, August 5th, 2017 at 9:00 am at the McVeigh Funeral Home, followed immediately by The Rite of Committal which will be held in Bethlehem Cemetery, Delmar.
