Kenneth W. Clough

Guilderland, NY-Kenneth W. Clough, 85, also known lovingly as “Lefty”, entered eternal life on Wednesday, April 26th, 2023, at home in Guilderland, New York. Born in Albany, New York, he was the son of the late Herbert and Katherine Cook Clough. Kenneth served in the United States Air Force where he was stationed in Biloxi, Mississippi, and Fire Island Alaska. He also worked as a dispatcher for the City of Albany Fire Department. For the greater part of his career, Kenneth was a mailer for the Albany Times Union for over 40 years, where he served as an officer with the International Brotherhood of Teamsters. After his retirement from the Times Union, Kenneth stayed active by working at the Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences as a mail room attendant, and volunteering to deliver Meals on Wheels. A devout Roman Catholic, he was also a proud volunteer at the National Shrine of The Divine Mercy. Kenneth was an avid sports fan who loved the New York Giants, and New York Mets. He especially enjoyed cheering on his children and grandchildren as their biggest fan. But of all his interests in life, family was most important to him especially his beloved Children and Grandchildren. Kenneth was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 56 years Joanne S. Clough; proud father of Lynn Calhoun, Dr. Kenneth J. Clough (Maura), Kimberly Karikas (late Mark), Joseph W. Clough, Karen McCarthy (James), Theresa Frey (Keith) Michele Zirilli (Brian), Christine Kanawada, David Clough (Ashley) and Daniel Clough (Kate); cherished grandfather of Christy Hedgcorth, Andrew Clough, Ann Clough, Aidan Clough, Crystal Necatera, Finn McCarthy, Liam McCarthy, Lindsey Frey, Izzy Zirilli, Joseph Winters, Alex Luciano, Kailee Kanawada, Sean Kanawada Jr., Benson Clough, Naiomi Clough, Ephrem Clough; Lucy Clough, Ezekiel Clough, Baby Clough (soon to be born) and great- grandfather of Ashleigh, Dominick, Jayden, Jayce, Laiyah and Skylar; Brother of Joyce Clough-Sellie, and Ronald Clough. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Kenneth’s family on Monday May 1st, 2023 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the McVeigh Funeral Home, 208 North Allen St., Albany, NY 12206. Funeral services, Tuesday, May 2nd, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. in the Historic Church of St. Mary on Capitol Hill, where his funeral Mass will be celebrated.
