Julie C. Guyon

Albany-Julie (Campito) Guyon, 85, passed away on Monday, December 7, 2015, after a courageous battle with cancer. A lifelong resident of Albany, N.Y., Julie was the daughter of Paul and Immaculata (Sita) Campito. She graduated from Philip Schuyler High School. Following school, Julie worked as a bookkeeper for her brother’s plumbing business. After marrying the love of her life, the late Stanley S. Guyon, in 1952, she was a homemaker, raising two sons. Returning to the workforce in 1967, Julie enjoyed her position at Albany Medical Center Hospital in the mailroom and then as an administrative assistant for the security department, retiring from there in 1990. Julie leaves behind her two sons, Dennis (Lorraine) Guyon, and Gary (Jean) Guyon, two grandchildren, Jessica (Aaron) Dougherty and Christopher (Elise) Guyon, and her beloved grand-dog, Quincy. She is also survived by her sister, Rose DeMaria, and her brother, Joseph Campito. She was predeceased by her brother, D. Frank Campito. Julie is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cherished friends. Julie’s family extends heartfelt thanks to the doctors and staff of AMCH E3, as well as the staff of New York Oncology and Hematology, with particular gratitude to Dr. David Schaffer, whose professionalism, skill, and compassion was essential to Julie’s quality of life and well being. Funeral services Monday, December 14, 2015 at 8:15 am from the McVeigh Funeral Home, 208 North Allen Street, Albany thence to the Parish of Mater Christi, Albany at 9:00 am where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will be held Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at 11:00 am at the Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
