Julia K. Fincke

Albany-Julia K. Fincke, 101 years young, entered Eternal Life Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at Good Samaritan Lutheran Healthcare Center with her family at her bedside. Born in Earlton, NY she was the daughter of the late Francis and Marguerite Reiners Karnik. Julia was a graduate of Coxsackie High School and Albany Business College. She was the longtime owner of Fincke’s Insurance Agency in Albany, NY. For many years of her career in insurance Julia held the distinction of being the only female general agent in Albany specializing in accident & health Insurance. In 1983 Julia and her beloved partner and husband retired to their home, “Jewel’s Dream” on the Hudson River. They spent the months of February and March, and for 21 years in Hawaii where they had extended family whom they loved dearly. Julia’S love of the Lord guided her every day. She was a communicant of Historic Church of St. Mary on Capitol Hill where she served on the Board of Directors. She enjoyed traveling, cruises, decorating and gardening. The family would like to thank the staff at Good Samaritan Healthcare Center for the kindness and care they offer to Julia. She was the beloved and cherished wife of the late George H. Fincke; mother of the late Dorothy Fincke; sister of the late Frances Ready, Anne Clarke, Joseph Karnik and Dorothy Karnik; Cherished aunt of Dorothy E. Roberts (Warren), Joseph Ready (Hanna), Joan Burke (Thomas), John Ready (Linda), Richard Clarke, Jack Clarke, Joanne Clarke and Joseph Karnik Jr. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Julia’s family Monday, November 4, 2019 4:00 to 7:00 pm at McVeigh Funeral Home, 208 North Allen Street, Albany, NY 12206. Funeral services Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at 8:45 am at McVeigh Funeral Home, Albany and at 9:30 am at the Historic Church of St. Mary on Capitol Hill where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated. The Rite of Committal will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Coxsacki, NY immediately following the Funeral Mass.
