Joseph Patrick Lee, Jr.

Albany-Joseph Patrick Lee, Jr. went home to the Lord on June 27, 2012 after a hard fought battle with lung cancer over the past year. Joe was born in Albany, NY on March 17, 1966. He was raised by his grandparents, the late Harry and Mary (Reedy) Lee, Jr. Joe attended Albany city schools and graduated from Albany High School. Upon graduation, he proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 1983 to 1989. After leaving the Marines, Joe became a locksmith and worked for various locksmith companies for over 15 years, until he found his home at The College of Saint Rose, where he was employed for the past 10 years as the Master Locksmith. Joe thoroughly enjoyed his time at Saint Rose, making many great friends among the staff and students alike. Everyone who knew Joe knew of his deep passion for cars, motorcycles, and motorcycle collectibles. He amassed a diverse collection of Harleys, Yamahas, and Ducatis, as well as a Sachs moped and an All State scooter. Whether it was tinkering in the garage or off on a ride, being around his many toys gave him great joy. Joe is survived by his beloved bride of 20 years, Frances Piscitella. He is also survived by his devoted son Patrick J. Lee, daughter-in-law Samantha (Weyant) Lee, and his cherished granddaughters Madeline Jean and Kennedy Anna Lee all of Albany, his younger brother Michael J. Lee (Donna Shelton) of Albany, his mother-in-law Mary Ann Piscitella of Albany, sister-in-law Cathy Lotmore of Albany, brothers-in law James Piscitella (Debbie) of St. Petersburg and Stephen Piscitella (Colleen) of Delmar, his favorite Aunt, Sharon Lee of Slingerlands, as well as several nieces, a nephew, and numerous other aunts, uncles, and cousins. Also left behind to mourn his loss is Joe’s faithful canine companion, Rollo. Additional survivors include his mother Sue Allegretta (Joseph) and his father Joseph P. Lee, Sr. Joe is predeceased by his grandmother, Helen Sherry, his uncle Harry “Butch” Lee III, and his father-in-law, James “Apple” Piscitella. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of NYOH, especially Dr. Wu and Lisa, as well as the staff of The Community Hospice, for the excellent care that Joe received. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation hours Friday, June 29, 2012 4:00 to 7:00 pm in the McVeigh Funeral Home, 208 North Allen Street, Albany. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, June 30, 2012 at 10:00 am at the Hubbard Interfaith Sanctuary at The College of St. Rose, 959 Madison Ave., Albany, NY.
