Joseph "Giuseppe" Corcione

Albany-Joseph Corcione, 75, was born into Eternal Life Thursday, February 14, 2013 at St. Peter’s Hospital. Born in Moschiano, Avellino, Italy he was the son of the late Salvatore and Rose Nardillo Corcione. Joseph was educated in Italy, where he received his Master’s Degree in Education. He came to America in 1958 and worked for a time in the Corcione family bakery. Joe went on to work at Tobin Packing Company in West Albany, where he met his first wife Joan. He later worked at the Albany County Airport and OTB. Most recently he worked at Albany ARC, where he met his current wife Debra. He was a 50 year member of the American Bowling Congress, where he served as secretary for 40 of those years. Joe enjoyed bowling, poker, New York Giants, bocce, New York Yankees, casinos, dancing and horse racing. But above all Joe was a beloved family man, and his greatest joys came from being surrounded by his family, attending his grandchildren’s sporting and dance events and family gatherings. He was a very special father, stepfather and grandfather that was always there to offer love, support and guidance when we needed him. He was the husband of Debra J. VanAlstyne Corcione; husband of the late Joanie Marie Pleat Corcione; father of Donna J. Healy (David), Lisa J. French (Tony DeAngelis), Michael J. Corcione (Kristi) and Patricia J. Carlson (Rick); stepfather of Joseph Narzymski (Mindi), Adam Narzymski (Kim Rose); grandfather of Joseph, Amanda, and Melissa Corcione; Nick, Jess, and Kailey Carlson; and Miranda French; step grandfather of J.J., Robbie and Ava, Talia, Constance, and Faith Narzymski; he was predeceased by 9 brothers and sisters; he is survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, cousins and friends who loved him dearly. Funeral services Monday, February 18, 2013 at 10:00 am from the McVeigh Funeral Home, 208 North Allen Street, Albany thence to Blessed Sacrament Church, Albany at 10:30 am where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Sunday, February 17, 2013 4:00 to 7:00 pm in the funeral home. Interment Our Lady of Angels Cemetery.
