Forrest G. Weeks, IV

Glenmont- The Honorable Forrest Greeley Weeks IV of Glenmont, NY passed away on August 10, 2011. Born September 4, 1930 in NYC, NY he was the loving husband of the late Neal Cowie Haight Weeks. He was predeceased by his parents, Forrest Greeley Weeks III and Marion Schwartz Weeks, and his sister, Janice Weeks Wright. He grew up in Skaneateles, NY; attended Kent Prep School in Connecticut and the University of Pennsylvania, Warton School of Business. He then received his Doctorate at Albany Law School. Forrest practiced law in Buffalo, NY before moving to Albany in 1972, after his appointment to the NY State Labor Department Unemployment Division, where he enjoyed serving on the Appeal Board as a Senior Administrative Law Judge. He supervised several state offices in New York State, retiring at the age of 77 in April 2008. Forrest was a member of Psi Upsilon, and chairman of the Alumni Association out of RPI. He was an active member of the Cathedral of All Saints in Albany, NY, and was proud to have served on their vestry. He loved baseball and many trips with his family to Cape Cod and Puerto Rico. As a young man at U of Penn he loved playing football, hockey and crew. He was a life guard in summers on Long Beach Island, NJ. Forrest in survived by his children, Virginia Elizabeth Weeks of Glenmont, Monelle Allison Cottrell (Daniel) of Queensbury and Pamela Leslie Weeks of Bowdion, Maine; his grandchildren Christopher Daniel Cottrell of Tennessee, Katherine Neal Weeks (fiancé) Edward Jackson of Albany, and Jordan Renee Cottrell; his great grandchildren, Amaya Jovonne Weeks LaMartz and Daylon Forrest Jackson. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins and a special first cousin Gordon Allen (Raz) of Florida. The Weeks Family expresses special love and thank you to Dr. Neil Mitnick and staff at Family Practice, Dr. Joseph Sacco and staff at AMC, the Community Hospice of Albany County and the Hospice Inn at St. Peter’s Hospital and staff, and St. Peter’s Hospital Emergency Room staff. Funeral services Monday, August 15, 2011 at 8:15 am from the McVeigh Funeral Home, 208 North Allen Street, Albany thence to the Cathedral of All Saints at 9:00 am where a Memorial Mass will be celebrated. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Sunday, August 14, 2011 from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm in the funeral home.
