Dimma Dorato Fredericks

Rensselaer-Dimma was born October 30, 1948 in Manhattan, N.Y. to the late Col. Lawrence F. and Liane Dorato and died Wednesday, November 18, 2015. She graduated from Battan High School in Elizabeth, N.J. as well as Montclair State College, Montclair N.J. Dimma worked for Simmons in Elizabeth, N.J. until moving to Loudonville, N.Y. in 1978. In Loudonville and around the Albany area, Dimma brought with her an affinity for bringing people together. Whether it be church events, lunch or dinner reservations, she always hit the mark. She was then a devoted and loving stay at home Mom, volunteering her time at various organizations. She had a long time interest and flair for décor, particularly appreciating historic Victorian homes. She also ran a decorating business for a time and holiday stores. Dimma was a long time member of Christ Our Light, Roman Catholic Church and its predecessor, St. Francis de Sales, in Loudonville, N.Y. There she was active on the Building and Grounds Committee and involved in organizing various social activities. She loved spending time with family and friends. She always maintained an upbeat perspective regardless of circumstance. Her sense of humor and generosity towards others always shined, and will continue to do so in the hearts of those who knew her. Dimma is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Robert O. Fredericks and her Son, Lawrence D. (Heather) Fredericks, Esq. of Brooklyn, NY. She is also survived by her sister, Karoline (Dale) Glatter of Charleston, S.C. and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at 10:30 am in Christ Our Light Catholic Church, Loudonville where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will immediately follow the Mass at Albany Rural Cemetery.
