Colonie- Diane R. Scaringe,75, entered Eternal Life Friday, July 30, 2021, at Daughters of Sarah Nursing and Rehabilitation Center with her loving family at her bedside. Daughter of the late Marie Battisto. Diane had an extensive work career as a Receptionist, Radiology Department at St. Peter’s Hospital Dr. Purcell’s Dermatology Office and NYS Industrial Board of Appeals.Dr. Purcell’s Dermatology Office. Diane was also an Office Manager for General Electric Offices on Computer Drive and Great Oaks. She Retired from 4th Judicial District of NYS United Courts System as Secretary to the Chairman. Diane was very outgoing and involved in the following, PTA President: Forest Park Elementary, West Albany Elementary, Sand Creek Middle School, South Colonie Central High School. She was a member of the South Colonie School Board Member, Village of Colonie Lifetime Auxiliary Member and Past President, Family Players of NENY Board Member, A Founding Member of Colonie Youth Court, Colonie Republican Committee Member, Inspector of Elections, Cub Scout Den Mother to Pack 28, Cub Scout Master to Pack22 and West Albany Italian Benevolent Society Ladies’ Auxiliary. As a dedicated member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas for 57 years she held numerous leadership positions which included Secretary, Vice Regent, Regent of Court St. Martin de Porres #1648 Past Regents Chapter of the Catholic Daughters of the Diocese of Albany President, CDA District Deputy of the Diocese of Albany and NYS Regent and State Officer for 13 years (Secretary and 1st Vice Regent). Finally, she was a member of Court McLaughlin #422. She was a Member of the Millerette Metronomes where she held the title of Head Majorette. She was also a Baton Instructor with the Louise Miller School of Baton. She was awarded induction to the Baton Twirling Hall of Fame. She was Predeceased by her beloved Husband John A Scaringe, Sr., and Grandmother Ana Slavik, who helped raise her. She is survived by her loving Children DeLynn Wickham (Wayne) and John A. Scaringe, Jr. (Brigid); Better known as Grammy to DeLaney, Bella, LilyAnne, Abby, and Maggie; loyal Goddaughter and Sister-friend Linda Bates; Brother-in-law George Scaringe (Joanne) ; and several nieces and nephews. The family wishes to Thank The Peregrine of Colonie, 6th floor nurses of St. Peter’s Hospital and Daughters of Sarah for the exceptional care with which they provided Mom. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Diane’s family Monday, August 2, 2021, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the McVeigh Funeral Home, 208 N. Allen St., Albany, NY 12206. Please only enter the funeral home from the rear parking lot doorway. Unvaccinated individuals must wear a mask and practice social distancing. Funeral Services Tuesday, August 3, 2021, at 10:00 am at Christ Our Light Catholic Church where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated. Those who are vaccinated need not to wear a mask or social distance. Those who are not vaccinated need to wear a mask and social distance. The Rite of Committal will be held in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery immediately following the Funeral Mass.
