Barbara A. Morigerato

Barbara Ann (Simons) Morigerato, 63, of Albany, NY entered into Eternal Life on Friday, December 18, 2009 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Born in Albany, New York, Barbara was employed by Albany County Department of Social Services for the last 20 years. She was also employed by St. Peters Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for the last 12 years as a receptionist. Barbara was a devout Catholic and may be best remembered for her time spent volunteering at St. Teresa of Avila school/church while raising her children and helping care for the elderly at the Villa Mary Immaculate Nursing Home. Barbara was dedicated to her family whom she loved and nurtured dearly. Her passion for life and compassion for others opened the gateway for scores of poignant friendships; she will be missed dearly by those who knew her, but her beauty, grace, generous heart and boundless fun-loving spirit will be forever remembered. Barbara was preceded in death by her mother, Norma J. (Seymour) Simons and her father, Robert F. Simons. She is survived by her devoted husband of 43 years, Anthony J. Morigerato of Albany, NY; cherished loving mother and best friends to her children Lori-Ann (Matthew) Schrom, Tara Ann Morigerato, Erin C. Morigerato and Anthony G. Morigerato all of Albany, NY; treasured step-mother of Nancy Cuilla Morigerato of Revere, MA; adored grandmother of Heather M. Morigerato and Colby M. Schrom of Albany, NY and Jesse Cuilla of Revere, MA. She also leaves behind a sister, Deborah J. Davenport of Fayetteville, NC and brother, Robert (Mary Jane) Simons of Las Vegas, NV as well as several nieces and nephews, including Joseph Gailliard of Fayetteville, NC and Michelle and Robert Simons of Albany, NY. Also survived by best friends and confidants, her Great Aunt Elizabeth DeFrancisco and her husband Thomas DeFrancisco of Colonie, NY and Patricia (Joe) Hesch of Clifton Park, NY. The family thanks Hospice for their care. Funeral services Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at 10:00 am from the McVeigh Funeral Home, 208 North Allen St., Albany, then to Blessed Sacrament Church, 607 Central Ave, Albany at 10:30 am where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.
