Anthony "Tony" Nicholas Insero

Albany, NY-It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Anthony "Tony" Nicholas Insero, 84, who departed this life peacefully on September 19, 2025 at St. Peter's Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Born in Albany, Tony was the son of the late Pasquale and Josephine Insero. He was married 63 years to his devoted wife Jan Insero. The father of Susan Powell (Ben), the late Anthony Insero and Michael Insero (Catherine); dear brother of Thomas Insero (Barbara); grandfather of Laura, Ross, Amanda, Alyson, Madeline, Alexis and Gabrielle; great grandfather of Ophira and Ira; and his special cousin Ann Conley. Anthony devoted his career to public service as a Security Supervisor for the New York State Police, where he was respected for his professionalism, integrity, and steadfast commitment to safety. His dedication left a lasting impact on those he worked with and the community he served. Beyond his career, Anthony was known for his quiet strength, generous spirit, and unwavering devotion to family and friends. He carried himself with humility and grace, always ready to lend support. His presence brought comfort and stability to those around him, and his legacy will live on in the lives he touched. The family of Anthony Insero would like to express its sincerest thanks and gratitude to the staff of St. Peter's Nursing & Rehabilitation Center and the 3rd Floor Staff; also special thanks to Savannah, Justine, Varsha and all the Hospice Community Staff for the love, affection, comfort and exemplary care you extended to Anthony. A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, September 26, 2025, from 8:00 to 10:00 am at McVeigh Funeral Home in Albany, NY, where family and friends will gather to honor his legacy and the joyful moments shared. Please enter the funeral home from the rear parking lot entrance only. His Funeral Mass will follow at 10:30 am at Blessed Sacrament Church, 607 Central Ave. (Rev. John Bradley Way), Albany, NY 12206. The Rite of Committal will be held at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery immediately following the Mass.
