Theresa M. Santandrea

Albany-Theresa M. Santandrea 91, entered into Eternal Life on February 14, 2018. She passed at the Teresian House, after being visited by many of her family and friends. She was the beloved wife of the late Ben Santandrea. Theresa is predeceased by her parents Francis and Florentine Galerie. Brothers, George, Edmund, Frank Galerie, and sisters Georgette Racicot and Pauline DeVoe. Theresa M. Galerie was born in Cohoes and educated at St. Joseph’s School in Cohoes. She began her work career with the State of New York, worked for the Beltrone Construction Co. and completed her career, working for New York State Department of Labor. Theresa was noted for her hospitality, generosity and care for others. She enjoyed traveling, shopping, and spending time with her family. Theresa hosted many parties, and was known as the “Pearl Mesta” of Oakwood Drive. Weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, showers, any event was an opportunity to welcome people to her home for a great celebration. Family, friends and even strangers were always welcome for a meal and even an overnight stay. She is survived by her son, Bernard Edward (Pat) Santandrea, and her daughter, Diane (Jerry) Forenzo; 7 grandchildren, Andrea (Tony) Williams, Craig Santandrea, Michael (Melissa) Forenzo, Benjamin (Joelle) Forenzo, Steven (Cathy) Santandrea, Jared (Janice) Forenzo, and Vincent (Christine) Santandrea. 12 great grandchildren, her sisters-in-law, Jo Santandrea and Ann Galerie; and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff of the Teresian House for the love and care they provided to Theresa. Funeral services Monday, February 19, 2018 at 10:00 am in St. Pius X Church, Loudonville, NY where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated. All are invited to attend. The Rite of Committal will be held in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands, NY immediately following the Funeral Mass.
