Rosanne Caccese

Colonie-Rosanne Caccese of Colonie passed away on Monday May 2, 2016 after a courageous year long battle with cancer. She was at home surrounded by family that loved her deeply and will miss her terribly. Rosanne was born in Brooklyn, NY on September 21, 1948; she was the beloved daughter of Anne (DiConza) Morano and the late Philip Morano. She graduated from Our Lady of Perpetual Help High School and earned her degree as a Registered Nurse from the Methodist School of Nursing. Rosanne married the love of her life Albert Caccese in October of 1973 and moved to Colonie in 1976 where she spent the better part of 30 years as a nurse at Albany Memorial Hospital. Rosanne loved spending time with her family and friends; she enjoyed theater, shopping (for herself and everyone else) and travel, especially her trips to NYC and Europe. She had a strong faith and was an active member of the Roman Catholic Church. Throughout her courageous battle she had a special relationship with St. Rita of Cascia to whom she, her friends and family often prayed. In addition to her mother, Rosanne is survived by her devoted husband of 42 years Albert, her children to whom she meant the world, Michael (Colleen) Caccese of Niskayuna, Karen (Scott) Matson of Wantagh, NY and John Caccese of Cohoes; two grandchildren, Ryan and Dylan Matson, whom she absolutely adored; her loving sister Kathy (Ron) Santangelo of Manhasset, NY as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws whom she loved dearly. The family would like to thank all the doctors, nurses and staff of St. Peters Hospital and Memorial Sloan Kettering for their care, guidance and support. Calling hours for family and friends will be held on Friday May 6th from 3:00 to 7:00 pm at McVeigh Funeral Home located at 208 N. Allen St, Albany NY. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, May 7th 2:00 p.m. at the church of St. Pius X Church in Loudonville, NY. The Rite of Internment will immediately follow the mass at Albany Rural Cemetery in Menands.
