Michael W. Kindlon

Michael William Kindlon, 67, of Ravena, New York, passed away July 29, 2020 after a long battle with heart disease. His loving family was at his side. He was born on November 10, 1952 in Albany, New York and grew up in his beloved North Albany. He was honored to serve as the North Albany Limerick Marshal for the St. Patrick’s Day parade in 2018. Michael was the loving and devoted husband of Wendy Goss Kindlon for 38 years. He was the father of Michael Jr. and Daniel. He was one of twelve children born to the late Henry and Jane Maybes Kindlon. Predeceased by brothers; Henry (Hank), William, James and sisters; Kathleen and Patricia. He leaves behind siblings; Thomas (Jean), Edward (Kyle), Joseph (Ella), John (Joann), and Linda (Al). Survived by his son Michael Jr, granddaughter Sara, son Daniel, daughter-in-law, Melissa and granddaughters, Livia and Carmela (Mela). He was one proud grandpa and loved his girls. Also survived by brothers in law; Thomas (Lynn), James (Dianne), Theodore (Dolores) and Robert (Nancie), sisters in law; Janet Kindlon and Mary Pat Joy along with many very special nieces and nephews and his beloved cat Cinny who was always at his side. He was predeceased by his mother in law Mildred Correll (Nan) whom he loved and cherished. She lived with Michael and Wendy for sixteen years. He would care for her every need and loved her deeply. Mike attended Albany Schools. He retired from the New York State Thruway Authority as a Bridge Repair Assistant. He loved playing golf with long time buddies, especially Bruce Schultis. He was a hunter, (actually went just to be with his son or brother in law Bob). He enjoyed fishing and in years past softball and bowling. He was pretty good at both. Mike enjoyed being with his buddies at OTB or going to Saratoga to the racetrack, always hoping to hit that big one. He loved sharing time with his pals. He loved his flowers and was so proud of his gardens. He had a real green thumb and took such pride in his home. He loved to tell jokes and make people laugh. He loved doing magic tricks too, especially for his granddaughter Livia. He is remembered by many for his love of making them smile and wonder how did he do that. Anyone who knew Mike knew him to be a selfless, kind, caring and generous man who always tried to do for others. He will be missed by all that knew him. He and Wendy were always together, life partners and best friends. They took Sunday rides, just because he liked heading for wherever the road took them and just loved spending the day talking and being together. He showered her with so much love. Special thank you to his Cardiologist and buddy of many years, Jonathan DeSantis, to his special friends Angel and Fernando for always being there to help him with anything he needed, also to Nancie and Bob for all their love and support at Mt. Sinai. Due to the COVID virus we will be having a private service. A celebration of Mikes life will be held at a later date when you can come and share your love and memories of him.
