Mary A. Capello

Loudonville-Mary A. Capello, 102, entered Eternal Life Monday, October 11, 2021 at home in her family’s care. Born in Albany, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Mary Murphy Zeh. Mary graduated from St. Joseph’s Academy and Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. She worked at Memorial Hospital for many years, and then spent 40 years working alongside her husband, Dr. Anthony T. Capello, in his medical practice. Mary was a member of The Greatest Generation, who proudly served her country in the US Army during WW II.` She was a longtime member of the Auxiliary to the Medical Society of the State of New York and enjoyed volunteering, traveling, shopping, learning, and day trips. Mary was the wife of the late Dr. Anthony T. Capello; mother of Deb Capello and Barbara Lelyveld; grandmother of Jason and Marc Lelyveld; sister of the late Elizabeth Kaufman, Charles Zeh, and Patricia Kenneally; she is survived by her extended and beloved family, Christine Oliver Urschel, and her two children Tess and Michael Urschel, as well as nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Mary’s family Thursday, October 14, 2021 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the McVeigh Funeral Home, 208 North Allen Street, Albany, NY 12206. Please only enter the funeral home from the rear parking lot doorway. The Capello family requires all visitors must wear a mask. Funeral services Friday, October 15, 2021 at 9:30 am at St. Pius X Church, Loudonville where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated. Please only enter the church from the front doorway; church ambassadors will be available to help with seating and questions; if vaccinated please seat yourselves in main section of the church (masks optional and no social distancing); if unvaccinated or are uncomfortable not social distancing, the two sides of the church are available where social distancing and masks will be required; and please attempt to arrive 15 minutes before.
