Joanne S. Clough

Schenectady-Joanne S. Clough, 77, entered Eternal Life Thursday, March 8, 2018 in Ellis Hospital. Born in Albany, she was the daughter of the late John and Thelma Brown Cipollo. Joanne was a graduate of Cathedral Academy in Albany. She was a longtime member of the Third Order Carmelite, and was their Formation Director. Joanne was a devout Roman Catholic, and was active in the Pro-Life movement. She was a 17-year volunteer at the National Shrine of The Divine Mercy, and longtime communicant of the Historic Church of St. Mary on Capitol Hill, Albany. Joanne volunteered at the St. Francis Chapel on Wolf Road. She was a former Girl Scout and Cub Scout Leader, and enjoyed traveling and reading. But of all her interests in life family was most important to her especially her beloved grandchildren. She was the dear wife for 56 years of Kenneth W. Clough; beloved mother of Kenneth J. Clough (Maura), Kimberly Karikas (late Mark), Joseph W. Clough, Karen McCarthy (James), Theresa Frey (Keith) Michele Zirilli, Christine Kanawada, David Clough (Ashley) and Daniel Clough (Kate); cherished grandmother of Andrew Clough, Ann Clough, Aidan Clough, Crystal Necatera, Finnegan McCarthy, William McCarthy, Lindsey Frey, Isabella Zirilli, Alexandria Luciano, Joseph Winters, Kailee Kanawada, Sean Kanawada Jr, Benson Clough, Naiomi Clough, and Ephrem Clough; dear great grandmother of Jayden, Jayce, Laiyah, and Skylar; sister of Patricia Gaglianese (Mario), Linda Kirchman, and the late Michael Cipollo, Angelo Cipollo and John Cipollo; many nieces, nephews and dear friends survive Joanne. Funeral services Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at 9:30 am in the Historic Church of St. Mary on Capitol Hill, where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated. The Rite of Committal will be held in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery immediately following the Funeral Mass.
