Jeanne A. Ciancetta

Loudonville - Jeanne Rooney Ciancetta passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, January 21, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Albany on July 26, 1929, she was the daughter of the late James and Mary Rooney. Jeanne was a graduate of Cathedral Academy and was later employed at Niagara Mohawk where she met the love of her life, Victor Ciancetta. Jeanne and Vic spent 59 incredible years of marriage together creating a wonderful life with their children and grandchildren. Jeanne’s greatest legacy is her unwavering love and devotion to her family. She was an incredible daughter, wife, mother and grandmother, always putting her family first. Her kind, gracious manner remained with her until her very last day. Jeanne was predeceased by her loving husband Victor. She is survived by her children Deborah (Tad) Grenga of Suffolk, Va., Kathleen (Richard) Dal Col of Loudonville and Victor (Roseanne) Ciancetta Jr. of Monroe, CT., as well as 10 beloved grandchildren-Christopher Grenga, Jennifer (Sean) Eichenberger, Tad (Carter) Grenga and Mark Grenga; Devan Dal Col (Charles Wesley), Alexis Dal Col(Jeffrey Lerman) and Brendan Dal Col; Victor E.(Nicole) Ciancetta, Natalie(Jack) Cresci and Andrew Ciancetta. She is also survived by 3 great grandchildren, Thatcher and Campbell Eichenberger and Adaline Ciancetta. Additionally, Jeanne is survived by her cousin, Jane C. Rooney, her brother-in-law Mario (Muriel) Ciancetta, sister-in-law Mary (Skip) DellaRocco and the late Albert and Marion Ciancetta, Aldino Ciancetta and Jean Babin. Jeanne is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to join Jeanne’s family to celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at Historic Church of St. Mary’s on Capitol Hill, 10 Lodge St., Albany at 11am on Monday January 25, 2021. Masks and social distancing required. The Rite of Interment will immediately follow at St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
