Charles C. Ogniewski

Loudonville-Charles Clifford Ogniewski, 81, peacefully passed away at his home under the care of his loving wife with the dedicated assistance of Hospice on Tuesday, May 21, 2013. Charles was born September 7, 1931 in South Troy, NY. The son of the late Charles Francis Ogniewski and Helen Rand Ogniewski. He was a graduate of Catholic Central High School in Troy. After High School, Charles entered the Marine Corps and served proudly in the Korean War. Upon honorable discharge he joined his father’s business, Ogniewski Furniture Co. in Troy, NY. From there he went to work for H.S. Braun and managed their appliance service department. After Braun’s closed, he established his own business, Charlie “O” Appliance Service, Loudonville, NY. After retiring at the age of 62, being a very active individual he became a part-time employee of Cardinal Heath enjoying many new experiences and friends. But of all his accomplishments, he was a loving husband and dedicated father and grandfather. For 35 years he was the cherished husband of Madeleine Jane Breslin Ogniewski, beloved father of Charlene Uhl (Michael Conlon), C. Clifford Ogniewski (Linda), Keith Ogniewski (Amy), Deborah Graves (Victor), Richard Ogniewski, and Kimberly Solino (Dominick); cherished grandfather of Fran, Jason, Todd, Erica, Jenna, Matthew, Caitlin, Andrew, Kayla, Alexis and Christian; great grandfather to 11, with another on the way who will be his namesake; brother of Dorylee Campbell and the late Arlene Ryan; former husband of the late Frances Catherine Dombroski Ogniewski. Funeral services Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at 8:00 am from McVeigh Funeral Home, 208 North Allen Street, Albany thence to St. Pius X Church, Loudonville at 9:00 am where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment with full Military Honors will follow the Mass at 11:00am in the Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
